    Winter is here! and what a delight it is to stroll about in the warm sun and appreciate the beauty of it. The one thing that loathes this climate so much is your skin, particularly the face. Winters will in general dry it out and make it feel stretchy. Expectation you're not making the slip-up of adhering to a similar healthy skin routine in winter as you did in summer? Before you read any further, first discard your late spring lotions and creams, and line up your dressing table with winter skincare products. But on the other hand, those work just remotely.     1. Milk cream, Turmeric and Honey: Milk cream is one of the most traditional ingredients that is been used during winter. It contains some number of fats at about 55% usually buffalo milk is used to produce more cream compared to that of cow’s milk. The buffalo milk contains 5 – 12% fat while cow’s milk only contains 3-5% of milk. Even lower in fat, the cow’s milk still can be used. Milk cream has great benefits for skin it contains proteins, fat, vitamin and some mineral that can enhance healthy skin.

    Benefits: • Cream milk has smooth textures and it also can soften your skin. You can just apply the malai on face or skin as a mask or mix the malai with other ingredients like turmeric and honey. • Cream milk contains some liquid that works inside the skin layer and it can absorb into the deep skin layer to nourish the tissue and prevent it from dryness. • Milk and honey contain many nutrients that can make your skin look bright and healthy. • If you get irritation or wound on the skin, malai or cream milk will help to fasten the wound healing. • Malai cream contains some protein and vitamin that can promote collagen production which important in keeping young and tight skin. Honey has remained an integral part of our lifestyle. Right from being used for cooking purposes to being tried for treatment of various diseases and illnesses; the reputation and credibility of Honey as a magic potion for the overall external and internal health of the body has remained unwavering.


    Benefits: • Honey works as a humectant it looks the moisture in the skin. The enzymes present in Honey enables it to easily seep into the skin while conditioning it and softening it from deep within. • Honey contains antioxidants, antiseptic, and antibacterial properties, it helps to rid your skin of blackheads by removing dirt from pores. It then hydrates and tightens skin pores for a clear complexion. • The natural antioxidants present in Honey help control wrinkles and fine lines on the face.

How to Use: Mix one tablespoon milk cream with a pinch of turmeric and one teaspoon honey mix well thin it with milk for that face pack consistency. Apply on the skin and wash after 10-15 mins and rinse off with lukewarm water followed by a splash of cold water. Also, the mixture can be poured into an ice tray and freeze this has a shelf life of 1-2 days.

    2. Coconut Milk: The rich and creamy coconut milk often used to flavour your favourite Thai curry is also highly nourishing for the skin and hair. High in healthy fatty acids, proteins and vitamin E, coconut milk has excellent moisturizing and repairing properties which can give you amazing hair and skin. Benefits: • Coconut milk is highly moisturizing and can combat skin dryness effectively its soothing and moisturizing properties, it can be used to treat dry and irritated skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis. • The high vitamin C and E content in coconut milk can help maintain skin elasticity. Moisturizing the skin with coconut milk will make it supple while smoothing away fine lines and wrinkles. smoothing away fine lines and wrinkles. How to Use: Extract fresh coconut milk and apply all over your face with the help of cotton pads. Preferably use the first extract. You can reapply the milk a few times as it dries, before rinsing it off your skin. After 20 minutes, wash it off with cold water.

    3. Over ripped Banana, Honey and Milk: Banana is great not just for your skin, but one's overall health as well. There are many powerful nutrients contained in the fruit that makes it the perfect addition to your natural face masks. Benefits:  Potassium- Hydrates and moisturizes dehydrated skin.  B-vitamin- Protect against free radicals that cause oxidative stress and premature ageing  Vitamin A- Heals dry, withered skin. Fades acne scars and dark spots. Smooths out ageing skin.  Zinc- Fights acne-causing germs. • Vitamin C- Necessary for the production of collagen. Fights off free radicals. For skin oil control. • Vitamin E-Protects skin from UV damage. Slows down the process of ageing. Fights free radical damage to skin cells. • Lectin- Destroy bacteria that cause acne and pimples. • Amino Acid- Nourishes skin. Strengthens connective tissue and helps maintain skin elasticity and strength.

    How to use: Mix a spoon of mashed banana with honey and one teaspoon of milk. Use rose water if you have oily skin. Leave the mask for 20 minutes before rinsing off. Use these face packs twice a week and show-off lovely skin all winter through. Even though all these face packs use natural ingredients, do a small patch test before you apply anything on your face.

    4. Papaya, honey and milk: Papaya is the best bet when it comes to skincare. It is a good source of Vitamin A and papain. Vitamin A acts as an anti-oxidant, while the papain breaks down inactive proteins and removes dead skin cells. The best feature of the fruit is its low sodium quality. Since the salt content is less, the water retention is also little. The result is an overall hydrated skin. Benefits • Papaya is abundant in anti-oxidants due to the huge concentration of Vitamin A • ‘Papain’ in Papaya is helpful in removing the dead skin cells so applying papaya on the skin will exfoliate your skin in the most gentle and natural way • The AHA’s (alpha-hydroxy acids), which are the most known ingredients of today for their anti-ageing properties, are in abundance in Papaya which makes it an acidic fruit. If you apply Papaya for more time, it would cause dryness and might even irritate sensitive skins. • Papaya is a great skin-firming and anti-ageing mask. It helps in removing blemishes, dark spots, evens out your skin tone and brings a glow to your face. How to use: Mash it with your fingers or a fork and puree it by adding milk into a thick consistency. Add one teaspoon of honey. Apply this pack on your face and neck. Once dry, wash it off with cold water.

    5. Honey and Rosewater: Rosewater is prepared by steeping rose petals in water. Sometimes, a by-product of the process of extracting rose oil is also used in the place of rose water. There are a number of rose water benefits which make it a popular ingredient in cuisines and religious rituals. Rosewater for skin and rose water for the face are two of rose water's most well-known uses. Benefits: • Rosewater helps maintain the skin's pH balance, and also controls excess oil. • Rosewater has anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce the redness of irritated skin, get rid of acne, dermatitis and eczema. It is a great cleanser and aids in removing oil and dirt accumulated in clogged pores. • Rosewater helps hydrate, revitalize and moisturize the skin giving it with that refreshed look. It also helps ageing skin, keeping fine lines and wrinkles at bay. • Due to its antibacterial properties, rose water also aids in healing scars, cuts and wounds. • The antioxidant properties of rose water help to strengthen skin cells and regenerate skin tissues. • Due to the astringent like properties it possesses, rose water helps clean pores and tone the skin. Applying rose water after steaming tightens capillaries, reduces redness and blotchiness. How to use: Mix equal part of rosewater to honey. Apply this pack on the face and neck. You can also use a compressed mask sheet soak it in the mixture and let it swell than stick it on your face leave in to dry for 10 minutes. Once dry, wash it off with lukewarm water.
